LCPS To Launch Pre-International Baccalaureate Program for Students in Grades 9 and 10
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) is looking forward to launching its new Pre-International Baccalaureate (Pre-IB) program beginning in the Fall of 2023 at Heritage and Loudoun Valley high schools. Once candidate schools are approved, the integrated, holistic curriculum will engage students as creative problem solvers and empathetic global citizens.
Informational meetings for parents/guardians of students in grades 9 and 10 (as of fall 2022-2023) are being offered at schools across the county. Students in grade 9 and 10 (as of fall 2022-2023) would be eligible to express interest in the program. Meetings will be held as follows:

LCPS Deputy Superintendent Dr. Ashley Ellis said, “We are very excited to offer this unique and challenging Pre-International Baccalaureate program to our students. The extensive areas of study naturally align with our goal to empower students in the new global community.”
The rigorous and demanding academic program helps develop inquiring, knowledgeable and dedicated young students through intercultural understanding and respect, emphasizing the development of global perspectives on civics, culture, scientific understanding and communication.
