LCPS On-Time Graduation Rate Increases to 97.2 Percent
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) reported today that Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) had an on-time graduation rate of 97.2 percent for the students in the class of 2022 who entered the ninth grade in 2018. The On-Time Graduation Rate calculates the percentage of students who complete high school within four years. The LCPS graduation rate was 5.1 points above the state average of 92.1 percent.
LCPS ranked 12th out of Virginia’s 133 school divisions in on-time graduation. Among the Northern Virginia divisions, only Falls Church City Public Schools had a higher graduation rate (98.7).
Sixteen of Loudoun’s 18 high schools had a graduation rate at or above the state average. Of Virginia’s 328 high schools with graduating classes, 188 (57.3 percent) achieved graduation rates higher than the state rate.

Statewide, 52.9 percent of students earned an Advanced Studies Diploma. Of Loudoun’s 6,533 graduates, 5,120 (78.4 percent) achieved the rigorous standards for an Advanced Studies Diploma in 2022.

Among the state-defined student groups, LCPS had a higher graduation rate than the state average in 12 of the 13 categories.

Virginia’s statewide dropout rate was 5.2 percent for the students who entered high school as first-time ninth graders in 2018. About 1.6 percent of the LCPS class of 2022 dropped out before completing high school.
