Carroll Elected Chair of Virginia School Counselor Association
Dr. Amy Carroll, the director of school counseling for William Obediah Robey High School, has been elected chair of the Virginia School Counselor Association.
The Virginia School Counseling Association (VSCA) is the state association for school counselors and a branch of the American School Counseling Association. As chair, Carroll will lead a nine-member board of directors and eight committee chairs serving 1,471 VSCA members and all school counselors in Virginia. Founded in 1962, the VSCA provides professional development opportunities through workshops, conferences, research briefs and podcasts; networking opportunities through various events; and advocacy for the role of the school counselor in Virginia.
Carroll came to Robey, Loudoun County Public Schools’ alternative high school, when it first opened in 2021. She has more than 20 years of counseling, teaching, researching and writing experience, including five years as a school counselor at Park View High School. Carroll also is an adjunct professor at George Mason University, where she has taught since 2017.
