Ramani named YoungArts Finalist

Kashvi Ramani, a sophomore at Rock Ridge High School, has been named a 2022 YoungArts Finalist in Theatre.

This is the highest honor awarded by the organization. Kashvi joins 720 accomplished visual, literary and performing artists from across the country who were selected for the caliber of their artistic achievement.

Kashvi was selected through a blind adjudication process conducted by a panel of theatre artists. She submitted two videos of theatrical performances for adjudication. The first was a classical monologue in which she performed the role of  Miss Mabel Chiltern in Oscar Wilde’s “An Ideal Husband.” The second was a contemporary monologue in which she performed the role of Allegra in “PrettyTheft” by Adam Szymkowicz.

As a Finalist, Kashvi will participate in virtual classes, workshops and mentorship programs from leading artists during YoungArts Week in January. Kashvi will give a virtual public performance that will be hosted on the organization’s website.

YoungArts alumni include Timothée Chalamet, Viola Davis and Amanda Gorman.
