Andrew Hoyler Selected to Fill Broad Run Seat

The Loudoun County School Board selected Andrew Hoyler to fill its vacant Broad Run District seat at its Tuesday, October 12, meeting at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices in Ashburn.

Hoyler was selected on an 8-0 vote. He was immediately sworn in by Loudoun County Circuit Court Clerk Gary Clemens and joined the School Board on the dais.

The only other name formally nominated by the School Board was Katrecia Nolen.

The School Board interviewed seven candidates (Paul Chen, Daniel Eistert, Hoyler, Cliff Keirce, Marjo Mitsutomi, Nolen and Samuel Yan) at an October 5 hearing before the School Board made its decision. A total of 57 speakers addressed the board about the merits of the candidates during that hearing.

Hoyler will represent the Broad Run District through December 31, 2022.

The Broad Run seat had been vacant since the passing of Leslee King on August 31.
