PowerFuel Summer Food Program at 9 Schools


 
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will be serving free meals at nine school locations across the county as part of School Nutrition Services annual PowerFuel program.
 

The program is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s efforts to curb child hunger. Each summer, the USDA partners with local organizations like LCPS to provide free meals to children when school is not in session.

 

Participating locations, with their locations, dates and times of service, include: 

 

Rolling Ridge Elementary 

500 E. Frederick Drive, Sterling

Dates: July 10–July 28

Breakfast: 8–9 a.m. Lunch: 12–1 p.m.

 

 

Sterling Elementary 

200 W. Church Road, Sterling

Dates: July 10–July 28

Breakfast: 8–9 a.m. Lunch: 12–1 p.m.

 

 

Sully Elementary 

300 Circle Drive, Sterling

Dates: July 10–July 28

Breakfast: 8–9 a.m. Lunch: 12–1 p.m.

 

 

Guilford Elementary 

600 W. Poplar Road, Sterling

Dates: July 10–July 28

Breakfast: 8–9 a.m. Lunch: 12–1 p.m.

 

 

Sugarland Elementary

65 Sugarland Run Drive, Sterling

Dates: July 10–July 28

Breakfast: 8–9 a.m. Lunch: 12–1 p.m.

 

 

Dominion High School

Breakfast: 8:30-9:30 a.m. Lunch: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

 

 

Riverside High School

Dates: July 5–August 3

Leesburg Elementary

Dates: June 12–July 14

Breakfast: 8-9 a.m. Lunch: 12-1 p.m.

 

 

Forest Grove Elementary

Dates: July 10–July 28

Breakfast: 8–9 a.m. Lunch: 12–1 p.m.

 

 

Any child under age 18 may come and eat a summer meal. No registration is required and meals are available to all children, regardless of income.

 

“For many families, schools are the one place their children can get a nutritious meal,” said Dr. Becky Domokos-Bays, Director of School Nutrition Services. “Our PowerFuel program allows School Nutrition to continue feeding children when school is not in session.”
