This is Ms. Melanie Stender's 16th year teaching English, and her 6th at SBHS. She attended public schools in the northern panhandle of West Virginia, and earned an undergraduate degree in English Literature at Marietta College. (Go Pioneers!) Her graduate degree from WVU is in education, especially reading, and she has current reading specialist certification. Before joining the Stone Bridge faculty, she edited copy at Glencoe/McGraw-Hill in Columbus, Ohio, and taught high school English in Ohio as well. During the 2018-2019 school year, she teaches two sections of AP English Language, two sections of English 12, and one section of English 10 Honors. Ms. Stender also co-sponsors PEER and GSA.When she's not working with students, Ms. Stender enjoys cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and OSU Buckeyes; practicing yoga; Facetiming her niece and nephew; and spending time with her senior dog Art (Moriarty), who is definitely not a criminal mastermind. :-)
