Welcome to Kindergarten!My name is Mercedes Perez and I will be your student's teacher this year. I graduated from National University of Colombia with a Bachelor's in Philology with a specialization in English and Spanish. I acquired my teaching credentials from Cal State Dominguez Hills University in California. I continued to take reading and writing courses at George Mason University. I got my Master's of Science in Education-Reading Specialist at Shenandoah University. This will be my 24th year teaching in the public school system, two of which I taught ELL students. I value teaching kindergarten children because it is the foundation of a successful academic future. This will be my tenth year at Sugarland Elementary and I am looking forward to it.
