The 2019-2020 school year will be my sixth year as a Comet here at Horizon Elementary. I am excited to be returning to fourth grade and to continue working with the children and parents in the Comet community. I am looking forward to another wonderful year!

    Background Information

I grew up in Herndon, Virginia and attended Fairfax County Public Schools from kindergarten through fifth grade. After fifth grade my family moved to Heidelberg, Germany where we lived for four years. After extensive traveling throughout Europe, I returned to Virginia and finished high school. I attended NVCC for two years before transferring to George Mason University, where I completed my undergrad and graduate work. My first year of teaching was in Fairfax County, followed by the past fifteen years in Loudoun County.

So, here I am, ready and excited to teach another year at Horizon. The 2019-2020 school year will be my seventeenth year teaching, and my second year teaching fourth grade as I previously taught fifth grade for fifteen years. As I said before, I am looking forward to getting to know the students and their families this year. I am also looking forward to sharing my experiences overseas with the students to supplement the curriculum during the school year. As a teacher of children, I am looking forward to continuing my education as an ongoing learner with your children teaching me lessons of their own every day.
