    Mission Statement:
The mission of this Library Media Program is to work with both staff and students to support the goals and objectives of Liberty Elementary and Loudoun County Public Schools by providing access to information resources and services, and promoting excitement about reading. We will also strive to create a community of users who are information literate by helping students and faculty learn to locate and evaluate information as well as apply it responsibly.

    • All students are welcome to come to Open Checkout each morning before the MoShow and during the day with teacher's permission (2/class) if they need more books, are not satisfied with the book they chose, or forgot to return books before their library class.
    • Books are only collected from the classroom bins on the morning of their library lesson.

     Overdue Policy:

There are no fines for overdue books. Students may not exceed the allotted number of books allowed to students at their grade level. Therefore, every time a student returns a book they may check out a new one.  Overdue reminders will be sent via email when students have books that are more than a few weeks overdue. Please look for the book before paying, as they often turn up, and feel free to contact the Librarian to arrange for a grace period.

Fines for Lost Books or Damaged Books:

If a student loses or damages a book, that student must pay for the book. The library will provide a price; if lost, payment should be made either by check (payable to Liberty Elementary.) OR sending in the exact amount (we can not make change.) We CAN NOT accept a replacement book as we order from our vendor. (The book arrives with all the stickers in place and catalog information already loaded into our system.)

If the book is located after payment has been made, a refund will not be given if a replacement book has already been ordered. Please search for the book before paying or arrange for a grace period with the Librarian.

PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO FIND LIBRARY BOOKS BEFORE PAYING FOR THEM!
