Library

• Pre-K & Kindergarten classes begin the year checking out one book from the Everybody section and will gradually be introduced to the other sections of the library. 
• First and second graders may check out two books and may keep them for two weeks or return weekly.
• Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders may check out three books and may keep them for two weeks.
• Students may renew a book one time and are allowed to request a Hold or an Inner Library Loan be placed by staff.
• All students are welcome to come to Open Checkout each morning before the MoShow and during the day with teacher permission (2/class) if they need more books, are not satisfied with the book they chose, or forgot to return books before their library time.

Overdue Policy:

There are no fines for overdue books. Students may not exceed the allotted number of books allowed to students in their grade level. Therefore, every time a student returns a book they may check out a new one.  Overdue reminders will be sent via email when students have books that are more than a few weeks overdue. 

Fines for Lost Books or Damaged Books:

If a student loses or damages a book, that student must pay for the book. The library will provide a price; payment should be made either by the Online School Payment (OSP) system [4 percent + .35 for each transaction will be added] or by check (payable to Liberty Elementary.)  We CAN NOT accept a replacement book as we order from our vendor so the book arrives with all stickers in place and catalog information already loaded into our system. CASH will not be accepted as we do not keep cash in the library for change.

If the book is located after payment has been made, a refund may be given. A refund will not be given if a replacement book has already been purchased.
