•      My name is Kevin Pearson and this will be my sixteenth year teaching, all here at Sugarland! This year will be my fourth year teaching 5th grade! I taught my other years in 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. I am very excited about this year and really love teaching 5th grade!

I moved here from Michigan where I grew up and went to school. I enjoy Virginia, but I miss Michigan for the season changes, the much cooler summers, and the sports teams!

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and my Masters in Special Education from George Mason University. I enjoyed this past summer by spending time with my dog, Chico, working around the house and helping my good friend move with her family to Texas. The summer went by fast and I was busy, but I am looking forward to teaching this year.

The classroom will be set up in a way to have the students engaged and active. The students will be encouraged to participate with their ideas and questions. I have always encouraged my students to be independent. The classroom has many jobs and each student will have a job for a week before they are changed.

Please feel free to contact me by phone at the school: 571-434-4460 or by email: kevin.pearson@lcps.org. Email is the best way to reach me.

I look forward to having a great year with you and your students!
