Library Policies and Procedures
Each library user is issued a library account at the beginning of the school year. Parents may apply for school library accounts and borrow print materials from the library collection. Non-print materials and equipment are not available for circulation to parents or students.
Generally, the quantity of materials that a student may check out fluctuates due to grade placement and research projects that classroom teachers may assign. In general, daily circulation limits are:
- Kindergarten 1
- Grade One 3
- Grades Two - Five 3
- Parents 5
Students and parents are expected to return materials in a timely fashion. Checkout period is one week, but materials may be renewed if presented at the library. Renewals may be limited if other students are waiting for an item. Students who have overdue items will receive a notice from the library.
In the event that a library book is lost or damaged, the student will be expected to pay the cost of replacing the book. If the book is found, the money may be refunded, if a replacement item has not already been purchased.
