I am excited to start my tenth year at Algonkian Elementary. I look forward to an exciting new year working with the staff and families.
This is my 28th year working for Loudoun County Public Schools. The staff and I have been working hard all summer to prepare for the new year. I spent 14 years at Meadowland Elementary School teaching second and fourth grade. I also taught for 3 months at Rolling Ridge before becoming the Assistant Principal at Potowmack Elementary. I received my bachelor’s degree in education from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania and received my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Tech. I have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Mason University.
I was born and raised in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. I have 4 children, and my wife is a math teacher at Riverside High School. In my spare time I love to read, and I enjoy cheering for the Commanders, Capitals and Nationals. In addition to my educational career, I also spent time as a coach for various sports in Loudoun County. I was the junior varsity basketball coach and track coach at Park View High School. I was a proud charter member of the Potomac Falls community, as I was head cross country coach, head track coach and assistant varsity basketball coach for eight years. I also spent time as the head basketball coach at Loudoun County High School.
I feel privileged to be a part of the Algonkian Elementary community. Students will be engaged this year with exciting projects that connect them to the world.  I look forward to working with the students, parents, and teachers in ensuring the success of all students.
