WELCOME TO THEWelcome Wolverine Parents, Students, and Staff!
On behalf of the PTSO, I would like to personally welcome all new and returning families to Woodgrove High School. My name is Adrienne Lyne, and I am honored to be your PTSO President this year. This is my 8th year as a member of our amazing school and organization and I am extremely excited for another great year!
I am often asked “How can I help the PTSO? But I don’t have a lot of time!” To be honest, we all don’t have a lot of time! But you CAN still help! Honestly, the best way to support our high school is to join the PTSO. Membership doesn’t require you to attend any meetings or to sell any products. In fact, if everyone were to join the PTSO, we wouldn’t need to do any fundraising! Your membership allows us to provide financial support to our teachers, our students, and our community, so please consider joining the PTSO today!
What do we do with the PTSO funds raised?
- We purchase books so each student has their own copy
- We support clubs and organizations
- We help offset the costs of local, regional and state competitions, and conferences
- We support our Senior class as well as our amazing teachers and staff
This is just a small example of what we do!
One of our biggest and most rewarding accomplishments is being able to provide scholarships to selected graduating seniors. Last year, we were able to award four scholarships to help offset the costs of higher education.
From the first staff welcome-back breakfast to the final Senior breakfast and the Senior Celebration that follows, we have worked both minor and major miracles behind the scenes and we couldn’t have done it without the help of all our wonderful WHS community, teachers, students, and most of all – our parents.
In order to continue to do all that we do, we need YOU. The PTSO raises funds through membership dues, school reward programs, volunteer work, Kaplan ACT/SAT test registrations, and other fundraisers throughout the school year. The PTSO also provides volunteers for school-related activities and events.
We strive to keep parents informed of all school activities by publishing the Woodgrove Weekly e-Newsletter, and through our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Large or small, please know that everyone in the WHS community can make a difference in our school. We are looking forward to working with you, so please join us today. Every minute and every person counts! And don’t forget to like our Facebook page!
