Mrs. Jarrett

This is Mrs. Michiko Jarrett's eighteenth year at LCHS.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in social studies grades 5 through 12 from Shepherd University in December 1997.  In August 2000, she finished her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Coppin State University.  Previously, she taught at Middletown High School, MD for four and a half years.

During most of her career, she taught World History II and AP World History with a smattering of electives like Sociology and Psychology.  Mrs. Jarrett teaches AP Economics, academic economics, and sheltered economics in room 217.  
Currently, she is implementing ExC-ELL (Expediting Comprehension for English Language Learners) and SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) into her Economics class for English Language Learners. 
    1.  Log onto VISION and check the assignments for the current unit and complete what you can.
    2.  Review the PowerPoint notes that go with the current chapter of study.
    3.  For regular economics use the online textbook for Understanding Economics and practice the reading questions.  For AP Economics work on your problem sets and review the material in your AP textbook.  
    Take advantage of the parentVUE in Phoenix, ask you child about VISION, and you can sign up for Remind text/e-mails too (the directions are on the class description links to the left).  

    Read over the class description which is also known as a syllabus.  It will let you know everything about the course and how the class operates.  
    Daily assignments and homework are posted on Phoenix (Parentvue/Studentvue).
