Degrees and Certifications:
VA Lic. PreK-6th grade 4/2018
Welcome to 4th grade!
School Year 2019-2020 will be my 2nd year at Sugarland Elementary and my 11th year of teaching! I live in Leesburg with my husband and 4 year old son, Daniel. We are expecting another son in November this year! I am originally from Rochester, NY and I've been living here in Virginia for 14 years. When I'm not at school, I enjoy watching movies, reading, checking out new restaurants and crafting. I collect postcards and I have over 300 of them from all around the world!
I went to college in both Connecticut and Colorado for my Bachelor's Degree in Pyschology. Afterwards, I got my Masters Degree in Virginia in Forensic Psychology. After working for a few years with law firms, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher. I worked with the New Teacher Project in Maryland and in 2008 I became a licensed Special Education Teacher. I worked in Maryland as a Special Educator for 4 years. Then I worked in Washington, DC for 5 years teaching 1st, 4th and 5th grade.
I really love working with students and families to make education relevant and fun!
