Ms. Stevens is so excited to be teaching 4th grade at Sugarland Elementary School! Go, Wildcats!
I am extremely excited to start my teaching career here at the wonderful Sugarland Elementary School as a 4th-grade teacher. I grew up in the small town of Fitzgerald, Georgia. After high school, I attended undergraduate school at one of the most beautiful schools in the world, Savannah State University (SSU) and earned bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Systems Management. Savannah State University is where I met and married my husband of 20 years, Severn. After graduation, I moved to Virginia and worked as a computer programmer for 3 years. Two years later I moved to Japan and lived there for 12 years. While living in Japan, I attended Grand Canyon University and earned a Master's degree in Elementary Education.
My family and I recently relocated to Ashburn, VA. I love traveling, reading, golf, trying new foods, working with children and spending time with my 3 daughters. I look am looking forward to working with your children and seeing the world through their eyes as we grow and learn from each other this year. I can be reached at Lakisha.Stevens@lcps.org or call the office at the school 571-434-4460.
