Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Beth Marks
I am so happy to be here at Creightons Corner Elementary. The 2018-2019 School Year will be my 20th year in public education! I have taught everything from preschool to 6th grade and SEARCH. This is my 10th year teaching FUTURA, and I am every bit as excited and invigorated as I was on day one!
I earned my BS in Early Elementary from George Mason University, an endoresment in Gifted Education from University of Virginia, and my MS in Instructional Technology from George Mason University. I am a Lifelong Learner, continuing my education with programs such as the Northern Virginia Writing Project and Inquiry Based Learning, on which I base my teaching pedagogy. Expect a lot of inquiry and writing in my FUTURA classroom!
Outside of school I am a proud mom of two grown children. My daughter, Jalyn, is a graduate of Grinnell College. She works at AUCD (The Association of University Centers on Disability) and is passionate about policy and advocacy for people with disabilities. My son, Jacob, works in the Emergency Department at Inova Loudoun Hospital as a clinical technician and is an EMT at Sterling Volunteer Fire Department. He is currently in school to earn his certificate as a paramedic.
Outside of school I enjoy teaching yoga and walking my dogs, Addie and Oliver, with my wonderful husband-to-be, Greg.
I am grateful for the warmth and camaraderie felt here at Creightons Corner, and look forward to another fantastic year. Go Colts!
