Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Laura Lowther
My name is Laura Lowther and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher.
I have had many years of experience ranging from Pre K through middle school. Most of my years of teaching have been in Pre K, working with families and children ages birth through 6 years old. I LOVE this age group. I LOVE working with families as they first enter the school system, and helping the families learn about the process. We work together to help each child be their best and we concentrate on helping your child to succeed. Early intervention for young children is a proven benefit for future success in school. It is very helpful, and we see the most success when we work as a team with you at home to encourage your child to communicate and work on developmental skills. YOU are such an important factor in your child's success. You'd be amazed at how much your child will learn the more you sit on the floor and play together!
My undergraduate degree is from The Ohio State University in Special Education (certified Kindergarten through 12th grade) and I earned my Master’s Degree from George Mason University in Special Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Special Education. I have been married to my husband, Marc, for almost 35 years! We moved here from Florida for my husband’s job. We have two grown sons who have been through college and live and work in Florida with their families (including my two grandchildren)! I like to sing and garden. I enjoy being involved in leadership positions in our community and our church.
I look forward to working with you this school year!
