•  PFHS GUITAR QUARTET

The Potomac Falls High School Guitar Quartet is an honor ensemble comprised of four of the best student guitarists of the PFHS Guitar Program.  Acceptance into this ensemble is by audition only and the only requirement for eligibility is that each student is a current member of the Artist Guitar Ensemble of PFHS.  Their repertoire spans four hundred years from the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras to the most current repertoire for guitar quartet, featuring modern classical, jazz, world music, and rock idioms.

This ensemble has been featured in performance at the 2022 National Association for Music Education National Assembly, on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center in 2013, the FSASSY Awards for the Department of Education in Washington DC in 2014, to the Church of Saint Paul the Apostle in NYC in 2017, the School Board Association of America Gala at the George Washington Masonic Temple in Alexandria, VA in 2013.  More recent engagements include performances at the Peabody Conservatory, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Appalachian State University.  The quartet has also been invited to open for such notable artists as Matt Palmer, the Kossler Duo, and Anna Vidovic.  The quartet has also earned distinction by consistently being awarded top prizes in the senior division of the chamber competition of the Aguado Guitar Competition.

The quartet is available for civic and community performances in addition to their regular concert schedule.  Please send all inquiries to William.Wells@lcps.org
