Each year the Virginia State Reading Association nominates 10 books for the Virginia Choice awards.  Students in grade K - 2 will be exposed to the books through various library lessons and will vote during library time.  Students in grades 3 - 5 will be introduced to the books in the beginning of the year but will have to read 4 of the books on their own.  All Kindergarten, First, and Second graders and students in grades 3 - 5 who read at least four of the books will vote at the end of February. The books that receive the Virginia Readers Choice Award are the ones that receive the most votes within a category.  Please encourage your student to participate by reading these books.  I will post the winning book chosen by the state.
