Welcome to second grade! I am Mrs. Gallagher your second grade classroom teacher. I have been teaching for over eighteen years and this will be my nineth year at Forest Grove. I earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the College of Charleston, South Carolina. I hold a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University, Virginia with licensure in general and special education. In the Fall of 2009 I earned my National Boards Teaching License as a Middle Childhood Generalist. I recently completed an Education Leadership and Administration license through George Mason University. I am currently working on my EdD in Transformational Leadership. My thirst for learning is always on-going!
In my off time I am kept very busy with my family and finding time to visit them. I have three children. Ryan is a Ranger Cpt. in the Army stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia and is a happy newlywed. Andy, newly married also, is an Alternative Power Engineer in New York City. Meghan, my daughter, lives in DC and is working as contractor for FEMA in international development. During the rest of my time I love to read, scuba dive, and visit unique places all over the world. In addition, I am learning to be a dog owner of my black goldendoodle, Archie. He is keeping me very busy!
I am very excited to teach second grade at Forest Grove Elementary School and look forward to an excellent year teaching tomorrow's CHAMPions!
