    Other Information:

Hello.  My name is Sally Toner, and I teach English 11 Honors and AP Literature here at Broad Run.  I am a native of Staunton, Virginia and a graduate of the College of William and Mary.  After receiving my B.A. in English, I returned to Staunton, where I completed a teacher’s certification program at Mary Baldwin College. Presently, I am in the process of obtaining my Master of Fine Arts in Narrative Nonfiction from the  University of Georgia . I took my first teaching position as an English teacher at Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville where I spent two years.  My husband’s work caused us to move to Northern Virginia, and this is my 31st year teaching in the area.  I am also the parent of a professional flutist, Aimee, and a college senior, Sara.

I hope that my experience and openness to new ideas will contribute to a great year for all of us, and I believe very strongly in being accessible to parents and students.   So please, if you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to contact me either through my home phone 703-689-0609, or by e-mail, which you can reach by clicking the link above.

I am thrilled to have your student in class, and I am confident this will be a successful year for everyone. Planning times, where I can be reached by phone immediately, are above, and, during office hours, I will respond to emails upon receipt. Please stay updated with class agendas and activities through Loudoun County's Schoology platform.  (The Link to Schoology is above, where you will be able to click on your class and see a course syllabus and folders with weekly agendas) We are all learning, all adapting to this changing educational landscape, and we will grow and achieve together. Communication is key in this process, so, again, please do not hesitate to reach out to me for any clarification and support.

    Sincerely,

    Sally Toner
