Mrs. Emily Parker
I am so excited to begin my 20th year of teaching, my 7th year at Round Hill. This past year brought a lot of challenges but also a huge opportunity for growth. I look forward to taking all of the lessons to make year 20 the best one yet. My team and I are excited to all be together in the building with ALL of our students.
Prior to Round Hill, I spent 13 years working in South Riding, opening both Hutchison Farm and Liberty Elementary. I have experience teaching first through fourth grades and look forward to continuing to work with the fabulous third grade team!
I received my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Radford University in 2002. In August of 2010 I completed my Master's degree from George Mason University in Initiatives in Educational Transformation. I consider myself a lifelong learner and love being both a teacher and a student! In 2012 I officially received my National Board Certification. This was a huge personal accomplishment!
Seven years ago my husband Tom and I relocated our family to Clarke County. Ally (16), Dylan (13), and Grace (6) look forward to meeting all of you at PTO and school in -person events.
I strongly believe in open communication and teamwork! I look forward collaborating with my team and working with our students to make it a great year. I am excited to get to know all of you as I plan on making Round Hill my home for a very long time. Please feel free to email me anytime. (emily.parker@lcps.org) I want the transition to third grade to be a smooth one for all of us and I am looking forward to a great year.
A wonderful year awaits us! Go BEARS!
