In Loudoun County Public Schools, technology is an integrated skill and activity. Unlike "special" content areas such as music, physical education, and art, computer activities are intended to be integrated with other content areas rather than function as a stand-alone discipline. Mr. McGuigan, the Instructional Facilitator for Technology (IFT), and the Technology Assistants, Mr. Julian Ferrer and Mr. Loren Parks are available to assist teachers with research, planning and the delivery of classroom lessons as well as the maintenance of the LCPS technology equipment within our school.
This is Mr. McGuigan's 19th year in Loudoun County as an Instructional Facilitator for Technology and his 31st year overall in Education. Before becoming to LCPS Mr. McGuigan was a Technology Education teacher in Frederick County, VA where he taught Photography, Manufacturing Technology and Drafting.
The mission of the Instructional Technology Department is to improve teaching and learning through the appropriate use of technology. Throughout the school year, students will engage in a variety of technology-rich learning activities.
