                                                                                                                            Welcome Back!

    Dear Parents and guardians,

My name is Kathleen Feeney.   I am going into my 11th year at Sycolin Creek and my 18th year of teaching.  During the 2018-2019 school year, I worked primarily with 2nd grade students.  This current school year, I have the privilege of working with 2nd and 3rd grade students.

I love being a teacher, but I didn't make the decision to become one until I was a little older.  I first attended the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT, and then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Music from SUNY Albany in NY.   In 2000, I received my Master's degree from Russell Sage/ Sage Graduate school in Troy, NY.  My first teaching position in Loudoun County was at Belmont Ridge Middle School.  After 3 years in the county, I left to teach in Charles Town, West Virginia for 2 years.  In 2009, I returned to Loudoun and began teaching at Sycolin Creek Elementary School.   I have lived in the greater Washington D.C. region for almost 15 years now, and I enjoy all that this area has to offer.

This year, we’ll have our Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 20th  from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and our Open House on Wednesday, August 21st from 10:00-11:00 a.m.  This will be an opportunity for families to visit their child's new classroom and to learn about what will be happening during the school year. You are welcome to bring your chils's school supplies on that day.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. My e-mail is kathleen.feeney@lcps.org. The school number is 571-252-2910. I look forward to an exciting school year with your child!
