Our school library hosted a Scholastic Book Fair at the end of February. This fun-filled book sale and literacy event was geared to excite children about reading and learning. The Scholastic Book Fair offered popular books for all ages, including the newest titles, award-winners, and classics. Parents, children, and teachers were all invited.
Visitors to the Fair helped to build classroom libraries by donating books through the Classroom Wish List program. Classroom teachers handpicked each title and every book represented a much-needed library selection for their classroom.
Funds raised at the Book Fair are used to purchase essential library and classroom resources and support school projects. This year, we plan to use book fair funds to fulfill Sterling students' reading requests with a variety of new books and book series: Classic Tales, I Spy, Lego, and Goosebumps Most Wanted, as well as Graphic Novel series such as Bone, The Baby-Sitters Club, Plants vs. Zombies, and much more!
