Mrs. Edgerton has been teaching in Loudoun County for the past sixteen years and is looking forward to another great year as part of the second grade team at Seldens Landing. She earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia and then moved to her home state of Pennsylvania, to pursue a Masters degree in Elementary Education. While working on her Masters, Mrs. Edgerton taught second and third grade in a private Quaker school in Philadelphia. After getting married, she and her husband, Bruce, moved to the central valley of California where she taught in a bilingual second grade classroom. There she got to combine two of her favorite things-teaching and the Spanish language.
Upon finishing their stay in California, Mrs. Edgerton was fortunate enough to be able to live in various parts of the country and to begin her own family. She has two boys, Merrick and Brodie, and a girl, Isabel, with whom she loves to run around and play outdoors. After 10 years of being home with her three children, she joined the staff at Catoctin Elementary in Leesburg, VA, as a fourth grade teacher. Thirteen years ago, Mrs. Edgerton joined the second grade team at Seldens Landing and she is looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead for the year to come.
