    Greeting Cardinals!

My name is Uzma Askari, and I am ready and excited to begin my 5th year at Seldens Landing as your Assistant Principal. I am a native of Toronto, Canada, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education from York University. I earned my graduate degree in Education: Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Literacy, from George Mason University.  In the spirit of learning life, I completed my graduate studies in Administrative Leadership at Shenandoah University.

This is my 20th year in education and my 16th year as an educator with LCPS. Prior to Seldens Landing, I was an administrative dean at Cardinal Ridge Elementary and a Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach at Potowmack Elementary. In addition to my time in Loudoun County, I have worked as an elementary teacher in both Alexandria, VA, and Richmond Hill, CAN.

My favorite pastimes are spending time with my family, traveling, cooking, reading, and cheering for DC/Toronto sports teams!  I am extremely passionate about literacy and enjoy sharing my love of reading with students.  I have two daughters, ages 12 and 16, both in Loudoun County Public Schools.

As the 2023-2024 school year begins, I am committed to serving the Seldens Landing community and look forward to the many opportunities to support our students and staff so that they may experience an excellent school year!!
