Magdalena Usiskin

    Mrs. Usiskin was born in Poland, where she spent most of her life. She got her BA in German and her M.A in Linguistics from the University of Poznan (Poland). She taught German to international students in programs sponsored by the European Union. She also tutored English and German to Polish students in Poland. She worked as a translator during International Trade Fairs, Opera houses, and international companies.
    Her love of languages and travel brought her to America where she met her husband. She has been in the United States for almost fifteen years and at BRHS for fourteen. She enjoys teaching EL and having such an international crowd around her. This year she will be serving as departament chair for the ELL dept.
    She is looking to another great year at BRHS!!
    This year she will be teaching the following classes: 21 Century Literature 1 and 2, Literacy 2, and will have 1ELL driven study halls.

    In her free time she cooks healthy meals, teaches Yoga, cycles, and takes care of her girls (Maya 12 and Bianca 10) and husband Terry. She lives in Brambleton.
