My name is Olivia Sanchez-Dawson, and I am very excited to be a part of this great school community.

I teach visual arts to students in K through 5th grade.  My goal is to make the visual arts room a place where students can discover and explore their natural talents and creative potential. Students will learn to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as develop a positive self-image of themselves and others.

The art program is based on the Loudoun County Public Schools’ Art Standards of Achievement (SOAs). Students meet once a week for 50 minutes.  During that time students are instructed on studio process, personal expression, visual arts vocabulary, art production, art history, art criticism and aesthetics. A variety of tools and mediums will be used including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpting, collage, and ceramics.  Students will also learn about world-famous artists, art movements, and arts in different cultures.

I look forward to seeing what students will create this year in Visual Arts.  Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns at Olivia.Sanchez-Dawson@lcps.org

Thank you for visiting our visual arts site!
