Mr. Marshal L. Ausberry Jr.

My name is Marshal Ausberry and I am excited to start my 13th year in education. This will be my fourth year serving as Dean in the Special Education Department at John Champe High School.  Prior to joining the amazing team at Champe, I worked at Broad Run High School as a Learning Specialist.  I primarily worked with students with Intellectual Disabilities focusing on independent living skills and functional academic skills.

I grew up in the Northern Virginia area and attended the University of Virginia, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Upon completing my undergraduate degree I obtained a Master's degree in Special Education from George Mason University, earning endorsements in both the general and adapted curriculums. In 2017 I completed a Master's degree in Education Leadership from GMU as well.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, watching movies, and reading good books. I enjoy watching sports, especially college and professional football. Before joining JCHS I coached high school football and wrestling.  If there is anything I can do to assist you, please let me know. I look forward to a great 2021-2022 school year!
