Hello! My name is Mrs. Bolyard and I am excited to be teaching Art this year at Meadowland Elementary. Last year I taught Art in LCPS Virtual Distance Elementary Learning program and the 7 years before that I was at Cardinal Ridge Elementary School in South Riding. I have been working in Loudoun County Public Schools since 2005. I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and I have a Virginia Education Visual Arts License in Art for Pre-K-12th grade. Since 1995, I have been a professional artist and muralist; specializing in painting artworks, Trompe l’oeil and mixed media pieces.
My dual interests in art and children are my major reasons for becoming an art teacher. Teaching art is a path which allows me to continue to explore art while encouraging and facilitating exploration and understanding by others.
My desire is to help students learn to express themselves creatively. I believe, with my knowledge and life experience, I can help them to have a great learning experience.
I look forward to creating with you in the Meadowland Art room and I cannot wait to see what this year has to bring!
Some people only dream of meeting their favorite artists!
