Welcome to the Second Grade!  This is Ms. Ledwell’s 20th year teaching.  This will be her tenth year teaching second grade at Lowes Island Elementary.  Ms. Ledwell grew up in a small town in Oklahoma.  She came east to go to college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.  After graduation, Ms. Ledwell taught in North Carolina for 4 years and in Cobb County, Georgia for 6 years.  She spent the majority of her career teaching 2nd grade, but has also taught third and fifth grade.  She lived in Lowes Island for sixteen years.  Her children, Kimmy, Ginny, and Katie have all attended Lowes Island Elementary.  Ms. Ledwell has been involved with the Lowes Island PTO in varied capacities and  has also been a Special Education assistant at Lowes working in grades K-3.  In her spare time, Ms. Ledwell loves to spend time with her daughters attending their sports and extra-curricular activities.  She loves to read books, cheer for the Georgia Bulldogs and Virginia Tech Hokies, and spend as much time as she can on the beaches of the Outer Banks.   She looks forward to meeting all her new friends in second grade!
