Welcome to Fourth Grade! I am Debbie Lamb, and this is my 17th year of teaching fourth grade in LCPS. Prior to that, I taught for 4 years in central Virginia, and then worked for a telecom company in customer service management and training. I was born and raised in Williamsburg, VA, and I received my B.S. and Masters Degrees in Elem. Ed. from UVa. My husband and I have lived in Ashburn for many years, and we have two daughters. The eldest is a graduate of the Univ. of Mary Washington, and is an LCPS French teacher. The youngest is a graduate of Christopher Newport Univ., and is a proposal writer for a government contractor.
I encourage a classroom atmosphere that is based on mutual respect, personal responsibility, and cooperative learning. As a native Virginian, I truly enjoy telling the adventure story of our country's history during Va. Studies lessons, and we find ways to weave those stories into other areas of the curriculum. Your children are very important to me, and I know they will all be eager to contribute as we grow together as a learning team. It is an honor to spend each day with your children, and I look forward to a wonderful year!
