Welcome to Fifth Grade - I am so excited that we will all be together again at Legacy! This is my 20th year of teaching in LCPS, 18 years teaching 4th grade, and last year moving up to teach 5th. Prior to this, I taught for 4 years in central Virginia, and then worked for a telecom company in customer service management and training. I was born and raised in Williamsburg, VA, and it still holds a very special place in my heart. My husband and I have lived in Ashburn for many years, and we have two adult daughters who consistently make us proud.
I encourage a classroom atmosphere that is comfortable and safe, based on caring, kindness, personal responsibility and mutual respect. We practice the "5 C's" in everything we do: critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and contribution. We'll participate in many social/emotional learning activities throughout the year that will help children grow and mature as 5th graders, and I know we will laugh, share, and enjoy being with each other each day!
Working with children to help them in all aspects of their growth is such a rewarding experience for me. I know they will all be eager to contribute as we become a learning team. It is truly a privilege to spend each day doing what I love, and I look forward to a wonderful year! At Legacy, "we have the keys to success"!
