Welcome Legacy Pups! My name is Liz Little and I want to welcome you and your child to Kindergarten. This is my ninth year teaching and I am very excited to spend a fun-filled year of learning with your child!
I started at Legacy when the school first opened as a parent, volunteer, and substitute. Now as a teacher, I am honored to help continue the tradition of excellence. My philosophy is to create a classroom culture of kindness and respect where your children feel loved and love to learn. In addition, they will learn to work with others, become good communicators (both listening and speaking), and experience critical thinking. It will be a great year!My background includes a degree from the University of Virginia where I studied German and Computer Science. I had a wonderful career in the IT world where I worked for Unisys and earned an MS in Information Systems from George Mason. After having three boys, I took some time off and stayed home with them. I continued my education in areas of artificial intelligence and education before deciding to earn a Certificate of Education from Shenandoah University. It has been a great career change and I have loved working here at Legacy. I currently live in Ashburn with my husband and a cute little dog named Sadie! I have one son who graduated from JMU and is working in the IT world, another who went to UVA and is serving in the Army in their Cyber Unit, and another who plays soccer for Virginia Tech and is also studying IT. It is my hope to pass on my love of education to your children so they too will become lifelong learners!
