    Byron "Tanner" Cross ~ Physical Education Specialist

    This is Mr. Cross's 14th year serving as an educator.  It is his second year with the FAMI-LEE.  Mr. Cross was a high school football coach for ten years.  He also has a background in special education.  This is his 6th year teaching physical education, and it is his professional passion.  Here at Leesburg, physical education plans are designed to fit the learning needs for all students.  Mr. Cross enjoys teaching students the necassary locomotor, non-locomotor and manipulative skills.   He also enjoys teaching his students health and nurtition content.  Especially the bones and muscles.  Last but not least, Mr. Cross believes in bringing out the best character in Leesburg students through movement, personal responsbility and social skills.
     
     
     
    Tammy Nemish ~ Physical Education Specialist

    Mrs. Nemish is excited to be a member of the Leesburg Fami-Lee and will be working in the Eagle Physical Education Department as an itinerant, teaching everyday in the afternoon.  She will be entering her 19th year of teaching with 15 of them in Loudoun County.  She received her bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from Virginia Commonwealth University where she also played on the women's basketball team.  Her master's degree is in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Nemish is currently on her last year before obtaining her Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in women and heart disease.   Mrs. Nemish also received her National Board Certification in Physical Education - Early and Middle Childhood in 2012.  Mrs. Nemish loves teaching students how to take care of themselves through health, fitness and wellness as well as being active everyday and making class fun with content filled movement activities!  She also loves to play all sports especially basketball, volleyball and enjoys weight training.  Her favorite team is the Washington Capitals! ROCK THE RED!!!  Mrs. Nemish is looking forward to soar with the Eagles family-staff, students, parents and community because "WE ARE LEESBURG"!
