Mrs. Emily Dubnowski
Hi! My name is Emily Dubnowski and I am the Instructional Facilitator for Technology at Tolbert Elementary School. I was born in Tokyo, Japan and immigrated to the United States with my parents when I was 2 years old. I grew up in Rockville, MD. I always wanted to be a teacher but pursued a career in gemology after college. Later in life, I decided to go after my dream of working with children and here I am, a career switcher educator. I want to share my passion for education with everyone and create an interactive and collaborative learning environment integrated with technology for the students at Tolbert.
My education experiences include being a Kindergarten teacher, Fourth grade teacher, Math Resource teacher, and now, an Instructional Faciliatator for technology. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies/Politics and from George Mason University with a Master's Degree in Education/Mathematics Specialist and a second Master of Education Degree in Designing Digital Learning in Schools. It is safe to say that I am a life long learner.
When I am not at work, I love spending time with my family and dog. I live close by, in Leesburg, with my husband, Bill and my two sons, Alex and Chris. We have a dog named Tucker. My happy place is at our cabin at Deep Creek Lake.
