Welcome to my American Sign Language class web site.
My name is Nicole Warnock. I am a native of Stony Brook, Long Island, NY. #LetsGoMetsGo #Howyoudoin?
I have earned my Masters from Columbia University in Behavioral Science with a concentration on Teaching American Sign Language as a Foreign Language. Since graduating, in May 2006, I moved to Virginia to seek teaching options. Never thought I stay over a year and here I am 12 years later.
While adjusting and gaining new experiences here in Va, I met my wonderful husband. I guess the saying is true -"Virginia is for Lovers". On February 28, 2016, we welcomed our beautiful daughter Jordan Finley to the world. She is full of energy, smiles and already on her way to learning sign language. She begins Preschool this year and also is apart of Pre-School at the Woods.
I have spent 12 years teaching ASL at Briar Woods High School and assisted in helping build Loudoun County Public Schools' ASL programs at Stone Bridge and John Champe. Outside of the classroom I LOVE to spending time with family, to travel, preferably to a beach or just going on a road trips. When the feeling hits, we don't hesitate to pack up and drive. I always say, "The best way to see your own country is to make it an adventure on the road."
I look forward to another year in LCPS. My outlook this year is “Team Positive, Look beyond, and Everyone Matters”.
