Welcome to Fourth Grade
I am so excited to join the FHR family! This is my third year teaching 4th grade, the two previous years I taught in Fairfax County. My favorite subject to teach is Virginia Studies. I have lived in Virginia my whole life and enjoy learning and teaching about my home state’s history. I received my Bachelor's degree from James Madison University and received a Master's degree in Elementary Education from George Mason University. I can't wait to spend the year learning and growing with my 4th graders!

This is my first year here at Frances Hazel Reid and I couldn't be more excited to join the FHR family.  I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education.  I just recenlty received my Master's degree from Southern Utah University in educational leadership.  I love fun and adventure and the chance to make a difference in the world.  I am a true teacher at heart and I love to learn new things every day.  I believe that all of my students are leaders and I encourage them to stretch themselves so that they can be excellent!

I am excited to be joining the 4th grade team this year! I have taught for 13 years in both Stafford and Loudoun counties working with 4th and 5th graders. Most recently I taught 4th grade at Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School. I am a Bridgewater College graduate and live in Leesburg with my husband and 2 young daughters. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family to the mountains of WV, the FL beaches, or to my husband’s hometown of Pittsburgh. I am excited to be a part of the FHR team and work with my 4th graders this year!

I have a Bachelors degree from Roanoke College, and a Masters of Education from Marymount University. My husband and I just moved to Loudoun County and are excited to get to know the area. In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends, play with my Westie puppy, read, and travel. I am looking forward to a great school year facilitating the learning of 4th graders!

I am very excited to be joining FHR this year! I taught for fifteen years in Fairfax County Public Schools, and am now pleased to be joining the LCPS school system.  Prior to teaching, I was a stay-at-home mom for my four children for twenty years. My first career was as a computer programmer. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Mary Washington College with a double major in math and economics. My elementary licensure requirements were earned in a masters program at George Mason University. I am currently working on a Masters in American History from Adams State University. I was proud to be named by the Gilder Lehrman Institute and the VDOE as the 2015 History Teacher of the Year for the state of Virginia. My role model is Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus because she provides authentic learning experiences for her students. I hope to bring the joy of learning to your student as we enjoy fourth grade together this year.
