MEET OUR FIRST GRADE TEAM
MRS. KAYLA LAMBERT: Hi! I am Mrs. Lambert. I’m excited to be back at FHR with the first grade team. I went to Virginia Tech for undergrad then received my Masters of Teaching from the University of Virginia. I love teaching science and instilling a love learning in each student. My husband Bryan and I have two kids: Linc is 3 and Jackson is 1. We have a cat named Comet. I love all sports but my favorite sports are football (Go Packers and Hokies!), hockey (Go Caps!), baseball (Go Nats), and soccer (DC United). I love being outside, snowboarding, and wakeboarding.
MRS. LEISA MACKAUER: Mrs. Mackauer is excited to be starting her first year at FHR! Although it’s her first year at FHR, this will be her 16th year teaching, 14 of which have been in 1st grade which is her true passion. She has a BA in Elementary and Special Education from Millersville University as well as a Masters in Education degree with an emphasis on K-2 Literacy from Wilkes University. Mrs. Mackauer is originally from Pennsylvania but currently resides in Lovettsville with her husband and 2 little girls. In her free time, you’ll find Mrs. Mackauer spending time with her family outdoors or working on one of the many construction projects in her home as she and her husband are big DIY people. Mrs. Mackauer is looking forward to being part of the FHR family and a great school year!
MRS. HEATHER SALBERG: Mrs. Salberg has been an FHR Raven since 2013! She has her BA in K-8 education with an emphasis in math from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota and her MEd. in Administration and Supervision from Liberty University in Virginia. Before coming to FHR she taught for nine years in Minnesota. Mrs. Salberg has taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. She LOVES teaching 1st grade! When she is not teaching Mrs. Salberg enjoys spending time with her family (husband and two sons), reading, and watching football (Go Vikings ~ SKOL!). Mrs. Salberg is looking forward to another great year at FHR!
MS. SALEM (Student Teacher): Ms. Salem joins us as a student teacher and plans to graduate from George Mason University in May 2023 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education to become a teacher herself! Ms. Salem lives in Ashburn, VA, and graduated from Broad Run High School in 2019. She has lots of experience with children of different ages and is excited to be a part of the 1st grade team at FHR! During her free time, Ms. Salem enjoys baking, traveling, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with friends and family.
