    Let's Read!

My name is Patty Griffith.  This is my 29th year as an educator!  I graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 1989 with a dual B.A. in Elementary and Special Education.  This year marks my 22nd year with Loudoun County Public Schools.  I am proud to say that I was a charter member of Evergreen Mill as both an educator and parent!  I have worked at Cool Spring Elementary and Creighton's Corner Elementary as well.  My varied background includes five years as a special education resource teacher, three years as a preschool teacher, and twenty-one years as an elementary teacher in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I absolutely love to read!  Some of my favorite authors include Eric Carle, Cynthia Rylant, Mo Willems, Lauren Child, and Chris Van Ahlsburg.

I lived in Leesburg for 23 years.  In fact, our children are Evergreen Mill alumni!  Four years ago, my husband and I moved to Berryville with our dachshund, Buddy. Our daughter currently lives in our old neighborhood in Leesburg with her husband and dog, Sampson.  She is an IT recruiter for Capital One. Our son is a sales representative with Reston Limousine, and is saving his pennies for his first place. Our other granddog Scarlet, lives with us as well.  Can you tell we are a dog-loving family?  We enjoy soccer, football, gardening, and traveling as a family.

Looking forward to an awesome school year!

    Go Pythons!
