MUSIC COURSE SYLLABUS
The Loudoun County elementary music curriculum consists of a well-planned sequence of developmentally appropriate experiences leading to clearly defined skills and knowledge. The program is designed to actively involve students of all learning modalities using materials carefully selected for their aesthetic value.
Students in Kindergarten through grade five participate in music class twice a week. The fourth and fifth grade students study the recorder. Reocrder instuction will not take place in the 2021-22 school year. The music department prepares a Veterans Day program in which the entire student body participates. The first, third and fifth grades each perform a grade level program. The kindergarten classes perform at the Volunteer Breakfast. Fifth grade may choose to participate in Python Singers, our school chorus. Performances will be modified following the latest guidelines concerning COVID protocols.
