I am delighted to be able to serve as assistant principal at Evergreen Mill Elementary School and look forward to continuing to foster a partnership between home and school that is based upon communication, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.  It is my goal to help ensure a positive and engaging educational atmosphere that will motivate each of our students to achieve to their fullest potential and to prepare them as 21St Century learners.  It was my distinct honor to have received the LCPS Special Education Advisory Committee award for Excellence in Supporting Special Education during the 2015-16 school year.  During the 2016-17 school year, I look forward to continuing to serve our students and families with this same level of excellence.  I am also excited about the expansion of One to the World initiatives at Evergreen Mill, and the opportunity to continuing to foster strong School Business Partnerships.  Lastly, I am very excited to welcome and ensure the successful transition of many new students to our school.
I have served as a public school educator for the past 20 years, both in Loudoun County and in the state of New York.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Messiah College in 1992.   I then received a Master's degree in Reading from Long Island University in 2001 and a second Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Shenandoah University in 2007.  I began my teaching career in New York where I taught first grade and served as a reading specialist at Brook Avenue Elementary School.   In 2005, my family and I relocated to Loudoun County and I joined the distinguished team of educators who comprise Loudoun County Public Schools. I have served as a reading specialist at Belmont Station Elementary School, Lucketts Elementary School, and Lincoln Elementary School.  Prior to becoming the assistant principal, I served as a fifth grade teacher at Evergreen Mill Elementary School.
