Mrs. Allan

Hello! My name is Leah Allan (she/her). I am a fourth grade teacher and the Equity Lead for the school; this is my sixth year at Dominion Trail. I first joined the Dominion Trail family in the Reverse Inclusion Preschool Program and, before moving into the classroom, I taught dance for 13 years and coached competitive dance teams. I have my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Pre-K to Grade 3 from George Mason. I’m a Virginia native - born in Tidewater and living locally with my wife, our child, and our husky!

My goal is to make fourth grade an exciting, engaging and challenging year for each of my students. We work hard and play harder! Our classroom community is rooted in building respect for one another and creating a safe space where each of us can feel heard, be willing to take risks, and learn as much as possible. We celebrate ourselves, one another, and our cultures with pride. I strive to incorporate computer science exploration, build confidence and independence, and create unique learning opportunities through projects and movement.
