- Countryside Elementary School
- Overview
-
My name is Nina Biggs and I am so excited to begin my 17th year of teaching, 12 of which have been here at Countryside. My career began in Carroll County Public Schools in Maryland where I taught full day Kindergarten for 4 years and first grade for 1 year. I graduated from Ohio University in May of 2006 and I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
I am originally from Columbus, Ohio but for the past 16 years, I have been living here in Northern Virginia. In my free time, I. enjoy scrapbooking, hiking, crafting/DIY and spending time with my friends and family.
My teaching philosophy is as follows. I believe that every child that steps foot in my classroom comes with a unique personality, a number of different learning styles as well as various levels of prior knowledge. With that in mind, it is my job to teach using various teaching styles, challenge and support each of the learners with the knowledge they hold, as well as a having a warm, patient and nurturing presence in order for each child to feel the need to succeed in their learning.
Please feel free to contact me at school or by e-mail nina.biggs@lcps.org if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
