    Mary Nowinski
     
    Mrs. Nowinski began her career as a third grade teacher in Chesterfield County, Virginia.  She later taught pre-kindergarten for five years in Lausanne, Switzerland at the International School of Lausanne.  Mrs. Nowinski also has experience as a private tutor, substitute teacher, and a Kindermusic educator.
    Mrs. Nowinski has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Virginia Tech.  She is endorsed by the State of Virginia in Early Childhood Education (grades NK-4), Middle Education (grades 4-8), and English as a Second Language (grades K-12).  In 2010, she graduated from Shenandoah University with a master’s degree in Education with a specialty in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).  This is Mrs. Nowinski's tenth year as an EL Teacher at Cedar Lane. 
    Mrs. Nowinski lives in Sterling with her husband Matt and tenth grade son, Jack. Her daughters, Hannah and Claire, attend Virginia Tech.  In her spare time Mrs. Nowinski enjoys reading, hiking, canoing and tubing.
