Summer is here!  Please keep a special time each day to help your child learn something new.  You are that special influence that truly makes a difference.  Please take time to discuss the events of this school year in a positive and reinforcing manner.  This will help your child feel a sense of achievement.   Don’t forget to apply and review math skills, especially memorizing addition and subtraction facts, regrouping, counting money and making change, and telling time on an analog clock.  Have the whole family become active participants in the Belmont Station summer reading program.  Practice retelling stories and include characters, setting, and key events.  Continue to read and write about your special activities and family happenings.  A journal can be a wonderful keepsake to record memorable events. Have a wonderful summer break!
We look forward to meeting our rising second graders and beginning another memorable year!
