Meet the First Grade Team!

Mrs. Duray
I grew up in western Pennsylvania and moved to Northern Virginia in 1989.  I graduated from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana with a degree in elementary education.  I taught Early Childhood in Arlington and Fairfax Counties before moving to Loudoun County Schools.  I am very excited to return to first grade for the upcoming school year.  I live in Potomac Station with my husband Adam.  In my spare time I enjoy shopping, taking walks, relaxing on the beach and visiting family in Pennsylvania.

I graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Elementary Education.  My elementary teaching includes first, second, sixth and seventh grades.  I live in Leesburg with my husband, Larry.  My oldest son Brett lives and works in Charleston, South Carolina.  My son Nathan, graduated from Radford University. He lives in Sterling, Virginia. My daughter, Lauren, graduated from Virginia Tech University and now lives in Charlottesville with her husband, Paul Shockley.  Some of my favorite activities include exercising, reading, and visiting family in Ohio, North Carolina, and South Carolina!  I am looking forward to another great year with my first graders!

I grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I began my college experience and attended James Madison University in the fall of 2003.  While pursuing my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education, I was a student-athlete and a four-year member of the JMU women's lacrosse team.  In May 2008, I graduated from JMU with a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.  In May 2014, I earned my second Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Shenandoah University.  During my free time, I enjoy playing with my son, Beckett, reading, relaxing on the beach, playing and watching sports, and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to working with your children to make this an exciting and memorable year in 1st grade!

Mrs. Masternick

I grew up in Pittsburgh and moved to Ashburn in 2003.  I graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught second grade for two years in Cleveland, first grade for two years at Sanders Corner, and served as the Reading Specialist and gifted education teacher in Salem, Ohio for four years. I was previously the reading specialist at Belmont Station. I have my Master’s degree in Reading from Youngstown State University and am currently working towards my Gifted certification. I have twin girls who are nine years old. My husband and I enjoy long runs, trips to Avalon beach, and spending quality time with our girls. My goal for this year is to help your children develop a love of learning that will provide them with endless opportunities throughout their academic career… and beyond!

Mrs. O'Hair

I am so pleased to be teaching first grade at Belmont Station! I graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor's in Music and received my Master's degree from Cleveland Institute of Music. I fell in love with teaching and then attained my Master's of Education from Cleveland State University. I have taught in Cleveland, OH, Fairfax County VA, and the last two years here at Belmont Station. I have three wonderful children, Saoirse, Emma, and Patrick, that attend Belmont Station. Some of my favorite things to do are sing, read, garden, exercise and enjoy the outdoors with my family.  I am looking forward to a terrific year in first grade.
I am very excited to be on the first grade team.  I taught kindergarten last year, fourth grade for three years and first grade my first year.  I am native to Loudoun County, graduating from Loudoun Valley High School in 2005. I crossed over the mountains and attended West Virginia University. From WVU, I earned my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Elementary Education, specializing in Special Education and Early Childhood. After graduation, I furthered my education by earning my Autism Endorsement. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and beagle, Missy. As college football season arrives you will find me wearing my "blue and gold" and cheering on my beloved Mountaineers. Let's go 'EERS! I am looking forward to making this school year a memorable one.
