• Meet the First Grade Team!

    Mrs. Duray
I grew up in western Pennsylvania and moved to Northern Virginia in 1989.  I graduated from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana with a degree in elementary education.  I taught Early Childhood in Arlington and Fairfax Counties before moving to Loudoun County Schools.  I am very excited to return to first grade for the upcoming school year.  I live in Potomac Station with my husband Adam.  In my spare time I enjoy shopping, taking walks, relaxing on the beach and visiting family in Pennsylvania.

    Mrs. Foti

I am so excited to be joining the first grade team at Belmont Station! I grew up in Montomgery County Maryland. I attended James Madison University (Go DUKES!) for my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. After graduating in May 2011, I stayed a fifth year at JMU and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching degree. My husband and I live in Maryland with our dog Vinny. During my free time I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, and taking Vinny for walks. I am very excited and looking forward to making this a memorable year in first grade!

    Mrs. Grist

I graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Elementary Education.  My elementary teaching includes first, second, sixth and seventh grades.  I live in Leesburg with my husband, Larry.  My oldest son Brett lives and works in Charleston, South Carolina.  My son Nathan, graduated from Radford University. He lives in Sterling, Virginia. My daughter, Lauren, graduated from Virginia Tech University and now lives in Charlottesville with her husband, Paul Shockley.  Some of my favorite activities include exercising, reading, and visiting family in Ohio, North Carolina, and South Carolina!  I am looking forward to another great year with my first graders!

    Mrs. Masternick

I grew up in Pittsburgh and moved to Ashburn in 2003.  I graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught second grade for two years in Cleveland, first grade for two years at Sanders Corner, and served as the Reading Specialist and gifted education teacher in Salem, Ohio for four years. I was previously the reading specialist at Belmont Station. I have my Master’s degree in Reading from Youngstown State University and am currently working towards my Gifted certification. I have twin girls who are ten years old. My husband and I enjoy long runs, trips to Avalon beach, and spending quality time with our girls. My goal for this year is to help your children develop a love of learning that will provide them with endless opportunities throughout their academic career… and beyond!

    Ms. Small

I am thrilled to be starting my first year of teaching at Belmont Station on the first grade team! I am a proud Loudoun County native, and after graduating from Broad Run High School, I attended James Madison University. I spent 5 wonderful years there where I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and my Master's of Arts in Teaching. I happily moved back to Ashburn after college. Now, I enjoy traveling, hiking, cheering on the Washington Nationals, and spending time outside. I'm looking forward to a year of fun, learning, and growth in first grade!
