Ashburn Reading Specialists

       Dr. Beth Woodruff has been a Reading Specialist at Ashburn Elementary School for twenty three years.  Previously she taught preschool, first grade, third grade and college level students.  She received her bachelor's degree from Bridgewater College located in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  She received her master's degree in reading from Hood College located in Frederick , Maryland.  She received her doctorate degree in leadership studies with a concentration in reading from Shenandoah University.  She has three children and five grandchildren.  She lives in Leesburg with her husband.   
         Lauren Mihalik is thrilled to be a part of the Ashburn Elementary reading team.  She previously served as a second and third grade teacher at Cedar Lane Elementary and as a reading specialist at Rolling Ridge Elementary.  She graduated from Penn State University with her bachelor's degree and completed her master's degree in reading from the University of Virginia.  She is a National Board Certified Teacher with an early childhood generalist concentration.  Mrs. Mihalik lives in Ashburn with her husband Greg and two children Melanie and Sienna.  She is looking forward to partnering with the parents and working alongside the teachers to support the children at AES this year!
